Course Description

Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) – Blended Learning
Offered by Ready Set Rescue – Port Orange, FL

The American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) course trains healthcare professionals and public safety personnel to respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies using high-performance CPR and team dynamics.

Course Format:
This is a Blended Learning course. You must complete the online training before attending the in-person skills session.

Course Covers:

  • Scene assessment and safety

  • High-performance CPR for adults, children, and infants

  • Use of an AED

  • Obstructed airway (choking) management

  • Team response and resuscitation strategies

  • Professional rescuer duty to act and legal considerations

Certification:
2-year American Red Cross certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
Certification is nationally recognized and OSHA-compliant.

AMexican Red Cross (ARC)– BLS Instructor Certification Course

The American Red Cross BLS Instructor course is a blended learning program for individuals seeking to teach the Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers course. To be eligible, you must hold a current American Red Cross BLS certification and be at least 16 years old. The course includes an online session (approx. 2 hours) and an in-person session (approx. 5 hours). A separate "Instructor Bridge" course is available for those with equivalent instructor certifications from other organizations. 

Course description and format

  • Blended learning: This format combines online coursework with an in-person skills session.

  • Online session: Approximately 2 hours in length, focusing on the foundational knowledge needed for instruction.

  • In-person session: Approximately 5 hours in length, focusing on the practical skills and teaching methodologies.

  • Certification: Successful completion results in a 2-year Basic Life Support Instructor certification and a 2-year Basic Life Support certification. 


Eligibility and requirements

  • Age: Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Current certification: Must possess a current American Red Cross Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification.
  • Materials: You will need to obtain specific instructor and participant materials before the course begins.

American Red Cross – Adult First Aid/CPR/AED


The American Red Cross Adult First Aid/CPR/AED Course equips participants with the knowledge and skills to recognize and respond to cardiac, breathing, and first aid emergencies involving adults.

Through instructor-led training and hands-on practice, participants learn how to respond effectively until advanced medical personnel arrive. This course meets OSHA workplace requirements and is ideal for employees, caregivers, and the general public who want to be prepared in case of an emergency.

Course Content Includes:

CPR for adults

AED use for adults

Choking relief for adults

First aid basics: scene safety, victim assessment, and calling for help

Medical emergencies: breathing problems, allergic reactions, heart attack, stroke, seizures, diabetic emergencies

Injury emergencies: bleeding control, wounds, burns, broken bones, sprains, bites/stings

Environmental emergencies: heat- and cold-related illnesses, poison exposure

Certification:
Upon successful completion of the course and skills testing, participants receive a 2-year American Red Cross Adult First Aid/CPR/AED certification, valid nationwide.
